SideHustle is a prototype of a mobile app that gives artists, musicians, and other creators the opportunity to directly showcase their work with others by linking up phones via Bluetooth. It was mainly intended for Uber and Lyft drivers who want to build their fanbase while driving but don't feel comfortable soliciting their passengers and risking a drop in their driver rating. Because passengers also need to have the SideHustle app, the service is essentially opt-in. This app can also be generalized to artists in general, as a way for people to discover and support local artists.

I worked on a team of 3 to perform the needfinding, mocks, and prototype. We went to San Francisco and hailed dozens of Ubers and Lyfts, interviewing drivers on their experience and looking for common pain points. Originally we were generally focused on Uber and Lyft drivers, but some of these drivers were local artists and we were compelled by their stories.
